Leg Assignment:
Total mileage for a single runner varies from 12.9 (Runner 5) to 20.1 miles (Runner 7). Runners 5 and 6 travel the shortest total mileage (12.9, 13.4 miles), but climb the Santa Cruz mountains (Legs 29, 30). Runner 6 runs the Golden Gate Bridge (Leg 18) and the steepest hill (Leg 30). Leg 10 is the longest (8.9 miles) and hardest with 3.4 miles uphill followed by 5.5 miles downhill including a one mile trail across the Triangle G Ranch.
Runner 1 runs Legs 1, 13 and 25, which are 4.8, 6.0 and 5.5 miles, for a total of 16.3 miles. These three legs are Easy, Moderate and Easy. Runner 10 has the hardest group of legs, indicated by 1 in the Difficulty column. Runner 10 runs Leg 10 (8.9 miles), Leg 22 (4.2 miles) and Leg 34 (6.2 miles), which are Very Hard, Easy and Very Hard. Runner 1 runs the easiest group of legs, indicated by 12 in the Difficulty column.
Course legs will be assigned by ability level and preference. If as a runner you have concerns with your leg you can bring it up with the captain and/or exchange with other runners. Please contact Patrick Malone with your running assignment of choice and another $50 for mandatory donations*.
*(Addtional fees will be required to help pay for the vehicle rentals, gas and food, etc. for the day of the races.)
